Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By uploading a manuscript, paying for, or otherwise using Galleyo (the service available at getgalleyo.com), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. Who can use Galleyo

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, and able to enter into a binding contract, to use Galleyo. By using Galleyo, you're confirming that's true.

3. What Galleyo does

Galleyo takes a manuscript you upload and, for a flat one-time fee, generates a print-ready PDF and an EPUB3 file formatted for the trim size and style you choose, along with a preview you can review before paying.

What Galleyo does not do: Amazon does not offer a public API for uploading books to Kindle Direct Publishing, so Galleyo cannot and does not upload your files to KDP on your behalf. You upload the files Galleyo gives you to your own KDP account yourself. Galleyo is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon or KDP in any way. Galleyo also does not design or generate cover art — formatting is limited to a book's interior.

4. No account required

You don't need to create an account to use Galleyo. Your order is tied to the email address you provide at checkout, which is how your receipt, download link, and files are delivered to you.

5. Your manuscript

You retain all rights to your manuscript. Uploading it to Galleyo for formatting does not transfer any ownership or license beyond what's needed to generate your files. You confirm that you own the rights to whatever you upload, or otherwise have the legal right to have it formatted, and that it doesn't infringe on anyone else's rights or violate the law.

6. Fees and payment

Galleyo charges a single one-time fee per book, shown at checkout, with no subscription and no recurring charge. Payment is processed by Stripe. Your file is generated only after payment succeeds.

If you file a chargeback or payment dispute after Galleyo has already delivered your files, we may provide your payment processor with evidence of that delivery. If a chargeback is later found invalid, Galleyo may deny future service to you and pursue the amount owed for that order.

7. File delivery and retention

Your uploaded manuscript and your generated files are kept for 30 days after generation, with a visible countdown on your download page, and are then automatically deleted. It's your responsibility to download and save your own copies before that window closes.

8. Revisions and re-renders

If you find a mistake in your manuscript's content after your files are generated, Galleyo offers a discounted re-render: $5 per re-render, up to 2 per book, within 30 days of your original order. This covers content-only corrections. Changing your trim size or style preset, or any request unrelated to fixing your manuscript's content, is treated as a new order at full price, not a discounted revision. Galleyo decides whether a request qualifies, and may decline or limit the discounted re-render if we reasonably believe it's being used as a way to get reformatting beyond what it's intended for.

9. Refunds

All sales are final once your files are generated. The re-render option above is the only remedy for problems with your own manuscript's content. A refund is offered only if Galleyo's pipeline fails to deliver usable, validated files at all.

Galleyo may decline a refund request we reasonably believe is made in bad faith — for example, after your files have already been downloaded and used, or as part of a repeated pattern of purchasing and then requesting a refund.

10. Formatting guarantee

Every file Galleyo generates passes our own independent validation before it ever reaches your downloads page — margins, bleed, embedded fonts, and file structure, checked automatically every time. If KDP still rejects your file for a formatting reason, Galleyo will fix and re-render it at no charge.

This guarantee covers formatting defects only. It does not cover content KDP objects to, cover art issues, metadata or categorization choices you made, copyright or rights disputes, or any rejection unrelated to the technical formatting of the interior file. Galleyo determines whether a rejection qualifies as a covered formatting reason.

This guarantee applies only to the file Galleyo delivered to you, unmodified. If you edit, re-save, or otherwise alter the PDF or EPUB file after download — including with third-party editing software — before uploading it to KDP, this guarantee (and the discounted re-render in section 8) no longer applies, and Galleyo is not responsible for a rejection caused by that altered file. Galleyo retains a record of each file as originally delivered and may use it to determine whether a disputed file matches what we generated.

11. Service availability and changes

Galleyo may add, change, or discontinue trim sizes, style presets, pricing, or any part of the service at any time. If we discontinue something you've already paid for before it's delivered, we'll either complete your order as originally described or refund that order.

12. Acceptable use

Beyond the ownership requirement in section 5, you agree not to:

• Upload content that's illegal, infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights, or that you don't have the right to have formatted;
• Use the free chapter preview to assemble a fully formatted manuscript without paying — for example, by splitting one book into separate uploads and previewing each as its own "first chapter." Galleyo may limit how many previews are available per manuscript or contact, and may decline to generate a preview we reasonably believe is being used this way;
• Use scripts, bots, or other automated tools to submit manuscripts or access Galleyo outside of normal, individual use of the website;
• Try to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the formatting rules or software behind Galleyo;
• Use a false identity or someone else's email address, or attempt to pay using fraudulent payment information;
• Upload a file containing malicious code, or otherwise try to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to Galleyo's systems.

Galleyo may refuse service, decline to process a manuscript, or take the steps described in Termination below, at our discretion, for a violation of this section.

13. No warranty of KDP acceptance

Galleyo validates every file against KDP's published formatting specifications before delivery, but Galleyo does not control Amazon's own review process and cannot guarantee that KDP will accept, publish, or approve any particular book, cover, or piece of content — only that the file itself is technically formatted to spec.

14. Termination

Galleyo may refuse, suspend, or end your access to the service — including declining to process or deliver an order — if we reasonably believe you've violated these terms, engaged in fraud or abuse (including the chargeback or preview misuse described above), or uploaded content that violates section 12. Sections that by their nature should continue to apply after that point — including Your manuscript, Indemnification, Limitation of liability, and Governing law — still apply.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

Galleyo is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, Galleyo disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose beyond what's specifically promised elsewhere in these terms.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Galleyo is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including lost sales, lost royalties, or lost data beyond what these terms already commit to (see File delivery and retention above). This section should be reviewed by a lawyer before publishing — standard limitation-of-liability language, and how enforceable it is, varies by jurisdiction.

17. Indemnification

You agree to cover Galleyo's reasonable costs (including attorney's fees) arising from any third-party claim related to: content you upload, including a claim that it infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights; your breach of these terms; or your violation of any law or another person's rights.

18. Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising from your use of Galleyo, are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Indiana.

19. Miscellaneous

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms are the entire agreement between you and Galleyo about the service, and replace any earlier discussion of it. Galleyo may assign these terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of its business. Galleyo isn't responsible for delays caused by circumstances reasonably beyond our control.

20. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use Galleyo after a change means you accept the updated terms.
