Privacy Policy

What we collect

To turn a manuscript into a formatted book, Galleyo collects:

• Your manuscript file (a .docx document) when you upload it.
• Your email address, captured at checkout, used to identify your order and deliver your files.
• Basic order details — the trim size and style you chose, and your payment status — needed to generate and deliver the right files.

Galleyo does not require you to create an account, and does not ask for your name, address, or any information beyond what's listed above.

Payment information

All payments are processed by Stripe. Galleyo never receives or stores your card number or other payment details — Stripe handles that directly, under its own privacy policy and security standards. Galleyo only receives confirmation that a payment succeeded and a receipt-level record of the transaction.

How we use it

Your manuscript and order details are used only to:

• Generate your formatted print PDF and EPUB files;
• Show you a preview of your first chapter before you pay;
• Send you a payment receipt, your download link, and a reminder before your files expire;
• Respond to you if you contact us for support.

Your manuscript is never used to train any model, shown to any other customer, published anywhere, or used for any purpose beyond generating your own files.

How long we keep it

Your uploaded manuscript and your generated output files are automatically deleted 30 days after your files are generated. Your download page shows a visible countdown so you know when that window closes — save your own copy before it does. After deletion, we do not retain a copy of your manuscript or your finished files.

Your Book Store listing for a book — its title, genre, cover image and buy link — isn’t part of that deletion. It stays on your Book Store after your files are deleted. To have a book taken off your Book Store, email us at hello.galleyo@gmail.com.

Who else sees your information

Galleyo does not sell your information, and does not share your manuscript or email address with any third party, other than the service providers required to run Galleyo itself:

• Stripe, to process payment;
• The infrastructure providers that host Galleyo's servers and storage, who process files only as needed to run the service.
• If you sign up for an author's newsletter on their Galleyo Book Store page, that author — see “Book Store newsletter signups” below.
• If you rate a book on a Book Store page, the public sees only the book’s average and count, and the author sees only the stars — never your email. See “Book ratings” below.

Book Store newsletter signups

Authors who use Galleyo can turn on a newsletter signup on their public Book Store page. If you sign up there:

• What we collect: your email address, and which author's page you signed up on.
• Who sees it: that author. They can see your email address on their Book Store settings page and download their list so they can send you updates with their own email tools. Once an author downloads their list, how they use it is governed by their own practices, not by Galleyo.
• What Galleyo sends you: an email when that author releases a new book formatted with Galleyo. Every one includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
• Unsubscribing stops Galleyo's emails and removes you from that author's list on Galleyo and from any list they download afterwards. It can't reach a copy the author already downloaded — to leave their own newsletter, use the unsubscribe link in their emails or contact them directly.

Authors can also upload contacts from a list they already have. Galleyo keeps those addresses only so that author can see and download their list, and never emails them. If you signed up on a Book Store page before October 14, 2026, your address is not shown to the author — they see only a count of earlier subscribers.

Book ratings

If you're on an author's newsletter list, you can rate their books (1–5 stars) on their Book Store page:

• What we collect: your email address, the book, your star rating, and when you rated it. We email you a link to confirm the rating; it only counts once you do. If you never confirm it, it’s deleted when the link expires after 7 days.
• Who sees it: the public Book Store page shows only a book’s average rating and number of ratings, and only once it has 5. The author sees the stars and the month of each rating, never who left it, and new ratings are added once a day rather than the moment you confirm. Your email address is never shown with your rating.
• Removal: an author can report a rating they believe is fake. Galleyo removes ratings only if they appear fake, duplicated or abusive — never because they’re low.
• Deleting it: use the “Delete my rating” link in your confirmation email at any time, or email us at hello.galleyo@gmail.com.
• Ratings aren’t verified purchases — Galleyo can’t see where you bought a book.

Data security

Galleyo takes reasonable technical measures to protect your manuscript and information while it's on our systems. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but limiting what we collect and how long we keep it (see above) is a deliberate part of how Galleyo minimizes that risk.

Children's privacy

Galleyo is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we'll remove it.

Your choices

Because most files are deleted automatically within 30 days, there's usually nothing to request. If you'd like your manuscript or files deleted sooner, or have any other question about your information, email us at hello.galleyo@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.

Governing law

This policy, and Galleyo's handling of your information, is governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
